[ UNICORN'S HEAD ]

good day everyone. i took some extra shots of Unicorn's head with all of its possible variations when i'm shooting it for my first batch of photo reviews.

and also a fellow GreatToys forum member GN-004 asked a favor if i could show him some shots of Unicorn in NT-D Destroy mode with the Unicorn's 'horn' attached to it instead of the NT-D Destroy's v-antennae form. and by doing so, some ideas came to my mind to try out some variations. and since i'm going to do a Unicorn Gundam [Amuro Custom] version for the third kit in the future, i have to come up with a head that will suit him. i know before i was just planning to paint the 3rd kit in Unicorn mode with Amuro's personal colors. but since i had fun transforming the head and think of other variations, i decided to make a unique head for Amuro's Unicorn. *spoiler* in which i will post it as the third and last part for this photo review. ^^,

good day everyone. welcome to the fourth part of this kit review. finally, i had the time the other day to finish snap-building the white armors of my Unicorn Gundam. here's my Unicorn looking at his white armors. hehehe. btw, i also added some review on the knee articulations. ^^,

W h i t e A r m o r

first 2 photos shows the location of the cockpit. third photo is the finished waist part. looks cool huh? fourth photo is the finished torso. i can tell that this kit will look great once it's finished. ^^, (giggles)

next row shows the finished torso and the arms. somehow i find the upper arm so thin for the forearm. sixth photo shows the back side with the attached backpack. looks nice. ^^, (giggles again) hehehe.

then lastly the finished 'horse-hooves' looking feet. it doesn't look like it when its in Unicorn mode. but wait till you see it in NT-D mode. it really does look like a horse-hooves. somehow it has a resemblance of a horse feet when you see it in side view. i have a feeling that Katoki integrated some horse design on its feet. oh well, you guys be the judge of it next time i post the final review. ^^,

finally, here's my finished RX-0 UNICORN GUNDAM

~ elaborated explanation ~

ok, i decided to make an additional review on the leg / knee articulation after i snap-build the leg part. studying how we can add some modification so that we can bend the knee more with its armor on. first we see the white armors touching the back side of the thigh when the knee is bended. i encircled the part with blue color. this can be seen in both modes -- Unicorn and NT-D. i was thinking at first maybe that's the only 'hindrance' that stopping the knees to bend more. maybe if we can modify it or cut it, it can bend more. so i decided to strip the white armors again to verify it. and here's what i've encountered so far:

to my dismay, i found out that part of the leg ABS internal frame are blocking the movement of the knee. it stops to that certain point once the ABS part touches the cylindrical part of the knee joint. i encircled that with blue circle. so i'm thinking once again, maybe if we cut that out, maybe the knees can bend freely. so i move out 'that' specific ABS part to expose the knee joint again. only to see that on the knee joint itself, there's a part at the back that stopping the knees to swivel. more like the 'brake pad' for the knee. check the blue circle for the knee joint. and the red circle showing the 'brake pad'.

now i wonder, if we cut that out does that mean the knees can bend more? actually, i doubt that. because there's still some hindrance stopping the knees to bend. if you check the last 2 photos with the blue circle, the back side of the knee joint with the cylinder mold, i encircled the parts where we need to modify first in order the knees to bend more. before we modify the rest such as the ABS internal frame and the white armors.

seriously, i'm not bothered at all with the articulation problems on this kit. but i don't want also to be hypocrite too for not wanting this kit to have Master Grade Ver.2.0 joints. but i guess, in reality we can't have both. i'm just happy having this kits for its design and complexity. it's really a challenge building this one. and i also like the transformation too. ^^,

good day everyone. here's the third part review for the Master Grade Kit #102 RX-0 Unicorn Gundam. i just finished snapbuilding the whole kit with the white armors last night. hope i can shoot some photos of it to upload it this evening. ^^,

ok, here's the last part review for the Unicorn's internal Psyco Frame.

~ some things worth noticing ~

here's both profile shots of the internal frame of Unicorn Gundam in its Unicorn mode and NT-D Destroy mode. the NT-D Destroy mode shows the expanded internal frame. it's not that obvious though compared to when its have the white armor parts. but so far i can say that i like the details of this frame work. the bad part is it doesn't have the articulations of the recent Version 2 internal frame (e.g. MG Char's Zaku II ver.2). but when it comes to design, this one's rock! ^^, after building it, i fully understand Bandai statement saying this is the first comprehensive internal frame for an MG kit. imagine an internal frame that expands and with some mechanism to help expands other parts simultaneosly in sequence. esp the leg / knee part. how cool is that? ^^,

here's some close-up shots of the internal Psyco Frame. look how gorgeous it is. first encircled photo shows the location of the cockpit. sorry if i forgot to take some photo of the opened cockpit. i'll post it next time. i also wonder how the Unicorn Gundam's internal frame will look like if it has a Perfect Grade kit counterpart? ^^,

A r t i c u l a t i o n s

hmmm... ok, this is the sad part on this kit. articulation-wise, it's really not that good. i think the Version 1.5 MG kits is a lot better than this new kit. though the elbow, knee and ankle sports double-joints, it's really really limited when it comes to posing. though you can still do some decent pose but to imitate some pose from the Gundam animes, it cannot. the first 2 photos shows the famous Dalong pose. plus my maxed out arm spread with bended elbow. in my honest opinion, that's the maxed out pose that you can do with this kit. unless ofcourse you modify all the double joints and cut some parts of the frame and the white armors maybe it can. i might do that in the future when i'm ready to mod and paint my kits. but for now, i'm happy with it. looks like all "Ver.Ka" kits suffers some posability in favor of the design. look for example the RX-78-2 Ver.Ka. the designs and look are great but somehow lacks the posability that the RX-78-2 Ver.1.5 have. to think that the Ver.Ka is more recent than the Ver.1.5 kit. but in fairness with Unicorn, i can say that i'm happy with it. i love the looks of it. and i don't regret buying 3 kits of it. hehehe. ^^,

to be specific on the joints, i encircled all the things worth noticing on the kit joints. the 2 photos showing the circled shoulder joint, that's the maximum movement that you can do with the shoulder. next is the double joint feature on the ankle. it's not your typical polycap joints. this one made of two ABS joint connectors. it's rigid yet it's stable. somehow i missed polycap joints...

and lastly, the pelvic joints. it's the same pelvic joints from the Ver.2 MG kits. though it doesn't compensate the lack of posability in the other joint areas. but all in all, like i said earlier, i'm happy with this kit. ;)

Gackt 0079-0088

good day everyone. for the past few days, i'm listening to Gackt's newest album: 0079-0088. this is made in collaboration with the Mobile Suit Gundam series. i'm not a fan or should i say i'm not into Gackt's type of music but since it's Gundam based album, i gave it a try. ^^,

the version i have is the Limited Edition Type A. with a cover that features the EFSF emblem. and all of the tracks have a small narration done by Toru Furuya. voicing his famous Gundam character -- Amuro Ray. i didn't know that this album has 3 versions: Limited Edition Type A featuring Amuro Ray. Limited Edition Type B featuring Char Aznable, voiced by none other than Shuichi Ikeda. and third, the Regular Edition, with no voice-overs. hope there will be torrent files for these two. hehehe. ^^,

shown here next are the cd covers from the last 2 versions: Type B and Regular Edition.

most of the tracks here were featured in the last 3 Theatrical Releases of Mobile Suit Z Gundam. those tracks are Metamorphoze, Kimi Ga Matteiru Kara, Mind Forest, Dybbuk, and Love Letter. 4 tracks are covers from the original series Mobile Suit Gundam. and lastly, one instrumental track.

welcome to the second part review of the internal Psyco Frame of the recent release Master Grade kit -- RX-0 Unicorn Gundam. like the last time i mentioned, i started building the Psyco Frame first, ignoring all the other white armor parts.

so far the Unicorn takes its form even if it's just the Psyco Frame. and i like what i'm seeing so far. ^^,

~ some things worth noticing ~

just finished building the feet. i find the transformation amusing. i keep on changing them once in awhile. never thought MG kits can do something like this. i just find the ankle joints to be big, since the polycaps are removed. besides, this ones transforms so you will have an impression that this Gundam sports a high-heeled shoes. hehehe. ^^,

next is the knee and leg frame part. just bear with me on this since i forgot to put the blue circles to point out 'the things worth noticing'. hehehe. ok, as for the knee joint, this is as far as bending it will go. i know it sucks but that's what we pay more for this magnificent kit. articulation are sacrificed in order for the transformation to work out. but like everyone said, "Ver.Ka" kits are more design based. it stays true to Katoki's design. right now, i'm studying what parts can be removed so it can be bend more. i'm thinking if we remove the small part at the back of the knee, before the 'hydraulics hose' part, maybe it can move freely. but at this point, i'm concern with the white armor parts too. maybe it will still get in the way after i put the armors. i'll review this again once i put on the armor parts. ;)

now, here's the internal frame of the leg plus the psyco frame. what i like with this part is once you push downward the white armor part on the back with the nozzle one, the knee psyco frame in the front slides upward. nice touch. ^^,

here's the finished internal psyco frame of the legs and feet. showing here also is the difference of the legs when its expands from 'Unicorn' mode to 'NT-D Destroy' mode. look how tall it is? imagine a Gundam that wears a high-heeled shoes is also a long-legged one? hehehe. ;D

and lastly, showing the ankle joints at work on the feet. somehow i got the impression that the ABS joints compensates the loss of 'polycaps' but somehow makes the ankle joints rigid for its size. :-p

W e a p o n s & A c c e s s o r i e s

Backpack. looks complicated but it's the simplest transformable backpack i've seen. and i love it. ^^, just don't transform it frequently because moving the Beam Sabre holder joints will became loose in time even it's made of ABS parts. that's the price we have to pay for 'polycapless' kits. :-p

Beam Magnum. one of the newest and coolest looking Gundam's Beam Rifle to date. and it's called the Beam Magnum. it also has 3 movable Energy Pack Cartridges. you can also mount this to Unicorn's arms when it's not in use. look how big it is compared to MG RX-78-2 One Year War's Beam Rifle. ^^,

Hyper Bazooka. nice Bazooka design. all are cylindrical parts so less seam lines. you just need to clean some of the parting lines from the plastic molds. it also has a movable cartridge at the back. and also you can extend the muzzle. so now compared to MG RX-78-2 One Year War's Bazooka, it's more longer. ^^,

Shield. i like the shield when i finished building it. though it would be better if the psyco frame is hidden when it's in normal mode. because what's just happens is it just open when it's in NT-D mode. wouldn't be nice if it's hidden (or more likely sandwiched in-between white parts) rather than exposed? what i mean with exposed is if you look back behind the shield, you can easily see the psyco frame underneath. oh well, that's just me. ^^,

again, sorry if i'm still not finished with my Unicorn. been busy lately with office work and web projects. hopefully i can finish reviewing it by the weekend. and i'm really taking my time building this kit so it will be PERFECT even if it's just snap-build. hehehe. ^^,

good day to everyone. i started snap building this kit during New Year's Day while waiting for my mother to finish the report she's doing and sending emails to our relatives, so that i can use my PC afterwards. because i have still some website projects to do. ^^,

so here's my first part of Snapbuilt and Kit Review of the latest Master Grade kit from Bandai. The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam! w00t! w00t! ^^,

B o x & C o n t e n t s

as you can see there's a lot of sprues on this kit. a lot of parts to be made. esp on the internal frame. because Unicorn transforms to one mode to another. ^^, and check also the clear red/pink part. it's called the Psyco Frame. up to now, i'm still puzzled with this 'Psycho' term on Gundams. some Gundam series called it 'Psyco'. but some calls it 'Psycho'. in this MG kit, it says on the sprue -- Psycho. but i still rather go on the 'Psyco' term because it's based on their technical spec 'Psycommu System'. just to be consistent on the Zeta Gundam series. besides 'Psycho' is 'Psycho'. maybe it's just another case of translating Japanese term in english. or... maybe they referring to the Psyco Gundam's pilot Four Murasame. she's kinda psycho. hehehe. ^^, anyways, the clear/red part ABS called 'Psyco Frame' is new from Bandai kits. good thing this is made of ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) material rather than PS (Polystyrene) material.

and lastly, before i forget this is another "POLYCAPLESS" model kit. i was surprised to see that it has no 'polycaps' when i opened the kit. i know we hear things about the new 'polycapless' internal frame since Master Grade F91 Gundam. how does it hold? and how fragile the joints will be? maybe i'll tackle that issue on the next part of the review. ^^,

next are the decals, flyer and manual. it has all the standard decals that came with Master Grade kits -- Gundam (Dry Transfer) Decal, Marking (Clear-type Sticker) Seal, and the Foil Sticker. a standard "Ver.Ka" white motif manual. but this time it's thicker. with lots of info regarding the Unicorn Gundam. and lots of instructions regarding the kit. the flyer shows info about the Gundam Unicorn novel. plus infos on the upcoming MG Unicorn Gatling Gun parts freebie on the next release of the novel on the month of April 2008. what a marketing scheme huh? they should've put the Gatling Gun accessory on this kit, than force the consumers to buy the novel in order to get the freebie kit. and this is a downer -- you have to buy 2 novels in order to complete the whole Gatling Gun for the Unicorn. ah Bandai... @_@

~ some things worth noticing ~

this is the first part that you will build based on the manual. the cockpit and the torso. on the third thumbnail, part of the waist armor, (circled on the photo) be extra careful on holding and inserting that part on the torso. it's made of PS material. so it's kinda thin and brittle compared to ABS material. i remember i almost break my MG Strike Freedom's waist part because the part is too thin. @_@ take note: i'm building first the Psyco/Internal Frame of this MG kit rather than build it completely with the armors. i just want to see how the frame moves without the white armor/parts when transformed. hehehe. ^^,

ok, here's the fun part after i build the head unit... i'm SO curious on how the head transforms, and i find it very unique. so unique, i find myself transforming it a number of times. hehehe. i even showed it to my sister and explaining it to her how it works. cool! for an MG head to transform like that... SO cool! great job Hajime Katoki-san! ^^, but the only downer on the head part is... when you used the transforming V-antennae/Horn, it never closes totally when its in Unicorn mode. notice the blue circles? it has a gap on the upper part of the horn. good thing they've included an extra 'Unicorn' horn for those who want their kits in that mode. but i have a feeling that you can interchange the horns/V-antennae when its displayed. i remember that you can easily slide the horn/V-antennae on the slot. maybe i'll cover that next time on my next batch of reviews.

next are the arms and shoulder armors. ok, another reason why i started building only the frame is i wanted to see how limited the movements of the joints. because, if you'll check other sites that have reviews on this kit, they note that it has limited articulations. that got me so curious, so while building it, i'm studying the frame at the same time if we can remedy that in the future by modding it. because as of now, without its white external armor/parts, i can see that we can bend the elbow joint as same as the Ver.2.0 kit have. check my MG Char's Zaku II ver.2.0 kit elbow joints for reference. next, i'm showing how the arm expands. and where the parts sits on when in different modes. then the shoulder armors in different modes.

last for now is the complete framed torso & arm, and complete head unit and shoulder armors. plus the waist framed part. just the internal frame and the psyco frame. ^^,

next i'll build and review the leg parts. so for now, i leave you the finished product image from this first part review. hope you liked it.

MG UNICORN Gundam Cometh

first of all, i would like to greet everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR! and more great toy collections to come! hehehe. and FINALLY!!! my own 3 units of Master Grade #102 RX-0 UNICORN Gundam "Ver.Ka"! what a great kit to welcome my New Year, eh? w00t! w00t! ^^,

oh, words cannot express how i feel about this kit. got them last Dec. 29. from the moment i saw it at the back of (fellow MechaPinoy member) M1g's car, to the moment i got hold of it... it felt quite nice. but the overall feeling is unexplainable. dunno why... but i think, it's the same 'feeling' when i met my wife before... naks. i'm becoming so emotional because of this gorgeous kit. hehehe. ^^, i'm sure i'm gonna feel the same way once again, when i get hold of my PlayArts Final Fantasy VII Cloud + Daytona Hardy Set next year. hahaha! ^^,

ok, here's the photo of the boxes. btw, it's almost the same size of Master Grade Freedom Gundam. so i guess, it's quite big for a standard "Ver.Ka" box.

the reason i ordered 3 units is because i never want to transform this kit to one form to another when it's displayed. esp when it's already painted. i'm planning to display all of them in their respective modes -- UNICORN Mode and NT-D DESTROY Mode. and also, as you noticed on the various website reviews, the 'Horn' in Unicorn mode is somehow 'opened', or should i say, there's a 'gap in-between', when it's closed. so it will be an awkward to display the Unicorn mode like that. and the third one, well, it's for future project -- an 'Amuro Customed Unicorn Gundam.' no NT-D Destroy mode for him. hehehe. :D i'd like it best when it's in Unicorn mode. it's kinda refreshing to see a different take on Gundam. just what i explained to fellow GreatToys board forum member Lotur, when the Unicorn transforms into NT-D mode, it looks like a regular 'Gundam'. with mouth piece, V-fins, etc. you get the idea. hehehe. :D but when in Unicorn mode the overall look is not too GM-ish (like everyone said because of the head) and not too Gundam-ish either. so it's really a different take on Gundam this time without its signature look. ^^,

once again, thanks to fellow MechaPinoy member, M1gs for getting this gorgeous kits and to fellow GreatToys board member, Lotur for the 'mini-EB' last December. thanks guys! ;)

same conclusion. i just wish they include all the weapons and accessories on both versions. just in case there's some collectors who just want one variant. but that's how Bandai works. you have to buy everything in order to complete the whole package. best example: HAZELs. ;D well, that's just me i guess. ;) but i don't regret having both. i love both variants of Zeta. but it would look cooler though if the Unit 3 has its own color of Hyper Mega Launcher. ;)

good day to everyone. another year has passed and still i'm collecting toys. guess we can't take away that 'special child' in our hearts, huh? ;D once again, thanks for all the birthday greetings. too bad i didn't bought anything for my birthday. because i'm saving it up for the upcoming MG Unicorn in the next 2 weeks. yippie yippie! :D

i bought these Zetas 2 weeks ago. forgot to post them here before. so i just decided to extend it, post, and make the review. ;)

Zeta Gundam is a transformable type mecha, which can transform from its normal humanoid outlook to a more aerodynamic style during long distance travel or atmospheric reentry. The shield on the left hand serves as both the nose and the heat shield of the flight unit while the legs become the main thrusters. The concept of the unit is a Tail Binder which serves as the fifth limb of the unit, thus aiding in Active Mass Balance Auto-Control (AMBAC) motion. When transformed to its fighter style, it is referred to as the Wave Rider.

this specific unit appeared in episode 9 of the CG series Gundam Evolve. piloted by codename 'White Unicorn' aka Amuro Ray. it look nearly identical to the prototype Zeta used by Kamille, and was colored in an unusual white color scheme with purple stripes. however, its mobility was improved to match up the pilot's control. and yes, Amuros' the BEST! :D

02. P a c k a g i n g

standard Banpresto Prize Toys' box. with lots of tapes in it. esp on the corners. hehehe. ;D oh, and there's always that 'string' on the top flaps. front is a window type panels showing the figure, hands, weapons, and shield. back shows the 2 types of Zeta Gundam figure. the prototype blue used by Kamille and the one used by Amuro. side panels shows the features of the figure. from weapon to joints. inside you can see the figure resting on a black plastic container. with the accessories in it. no wires. which is great by the way. you just snap the clear plastic from the black plastic. just like the ones on Revoltech. you just have to remove the tapes underneath it. then that's it. ;)

03. P r o d u c t & D e t a i l

first, this is not a transformable Zeta (wish it was). second, it's made of ATBC-PVC with some ABS for the joints. since the joints are made of ABS, it's strong and stiff. you can play with this toy with no worries. here we see the Zeta figure along with its accessories: (1) Zeta Gundam, (4) extra manipulators, (1) beam rifle, (1) beam sabre, (1) shield. next is the turn around profile shots. i love the proportion of this figure. the waist are slim and sexy compared to my HGUC and MG kit. this one resembles the sleekiness of the anime's Zeta. take note that the purple stripes/color is a little lighter in actual. next is a close up shot of the torso and head. look at the details. they're so sweet, huh? ;) next is the accessories. notice that the beam rifle is just painted with one color. you can enhance the figure by putting some panel lines into it. maybe i'll do that in the future. because honestly, this figure is too plain for being just 'white'. sorry about that, Amuro. ;) then the manipulators for holing the weapons. i love the open-hand manipulator.

04. A r t i c u l a t i o n s

04.01. N e c k

first of all, i would love to say that i really love the articulations on this figure. it can rival Revoltech's articulations. but let's not forget that they're different from each other, ok. as i was saying, this figure features bendable and rotating joints. from neck, shoulder, torso, waist, and ankle. for now, we'll talk about the neck joints. as you can see based on the photos, the neck joint are so flexible. you can lean it forward, backwards, sidewards, angled. and you can even rotate it 360 degrees. one joint is from the head/neck portion while the other is from the neck/shoulder joint. that's why you can lean it more. cool huh? ;D

04.02. T o r s o

here you can see the upper torso's movement. you can lean it forward and backward. i even took a picture underneath it, so you guys can see how articulated the torso is. oppss... is this a diecast toy? how come there's screw underneath the torso? hehehe. :D

04.03. W a i s t / E l b o w

next is the waist joint. imagine all the poses that you can do with this figure by having a torso and waist joint seperately. nice huh? ;D some shots shows the figure bending sidewards. you can also see the back joints of the figure. and the ball joint for the wing (refer to the main section image). next is the double-joint elbow. somehow the elbow joints resembles those found with the latest MSiA technology.

04.04. S h o u l d e r

the articulated shoulder joints. what can i say? i'm speechless while taking some photos of this figure. do i need to say more? :D and lastly, you can also bend slightly the wrist joint inwards. i only wish that the MG ver.2.0 kit counterpart has this kind of shoulder joints. ;)

04.05. C r o t c h / T h i g h / K n e e / A n k l e

since, all the parts involve here are related to one another, i didn't made a separate sections for each. ok. first are the crotch joints. looking at it, it resembles those found on the MG ver.2.0 kit. when i first look at it, i thought maybe this one can transform. but sad to say, it's not. once again, is this a rubber toy, or a diecast toy? why? because, there's a metal shaft connecting the main crotch joint. hehehe. :D then you can rotate also the thigh part. not so sure if it's up to 360 degrees. but you can rotate it as much as what your pose needed. ;) then next is the bended knee joint. and lastly is the ankle joints.

05. C o m p a r i s o n s

this section shows the other figures from different Gundam product. from left to right: HGUC Zeta Gundam, SCM-Ex Zeta Gundam Unit 3, GFF Gundam MKII, and MSiA TR-1 Hazel Gundam. true, right? that compared to HGUC Zeta, the SCM-Ex version is more sleeker and sexy. ;)

07. C o n c l u s i o n

this is a great figure. it's best to be displayed on your computer table or any of your workplace area. as i said earlier, it can rival the articulations of Kaiyodo's Revoltech. too bad, weapons and accessories wise, [i]medyo kulang.[/i] my only regret is why separate the weapons and accessories for each version of the Zeta? meaning in order for us to get the Hyper Mega Launcher (cannon), we also have to get Kamille's Zeta. and vice-versa on the Amuro's Zeta's Beam Rifle and Beam Sabre. now it would be awkward to use the blue-colored Hyper Mega Launcher with the white-colored Amuro's Zeta, right? and since Zeta Gundam has few weapons and accessories, why not throw it also the arm's Grenade Launcher Pack for both, right? with the rest of the accessories and weapons, i'd gladly paid an extra than not having it all. :-/

but in the end, since i also love the original color of Zeta, i decided to get Kamille's too. :D

new Unicorn updates!!! saw this photos from GundamBase. actually, it's the same model from the convention show. but this time it's more of a close-up shots. we can see more of the details. the opening hatches. the red tranlucent internal frame. i'm loving it! ^^,

wow! one more month and this UNICORN will be mine. i can tell that this would be the only time that we can get a 'Unicorn'. for all we know the fabled creature Unicorn is hard to catch. hehehe. ^^,

My First GFF Figures

i guess some of you Gundam collectors knows what GFF stands for. for those of you who aren't, it stands for GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION. all the early Gundam figures from this series are based on Hajime Katoki's Gundam Fix artbook. the latter (new and upcoming releases) are based from his new designs. or it's based on his 'take' or 'vision' to an existing Gundam mechas which is designed by other notable mechanical designers. all the figure designs are checked and produced by Katoki himself. and it is released by Bandai.

GFF toys share features found on MSiA (Mobile Suit in Action), EMSiA (Extended Mobile Suit in Action), and AMSiA (Advanced Mobile Suit in Action) but it is more detailed and it has more accessories. most of it has a swapping parts to change one mecha design to another. it depends on its Mobile Suit Variants design couterparts. just remember that this line is more expensive than the other lines mentioned above. this is the museum-type Gundams. it's 'for display only'. ^^,

now as to why i decided to get a GFF figures. it's simple. the Gundam designs i like is not available on model kits. and most of them have a Full-Armor add-on parts. though some conversion resin kits is available but it is more expensive and it will really need a lot of work just to build it. so i decided to get the GFF line instead. special thanks goes to sir Malvin, the owner of GreatToys.net for giving me special discounts on these items. thanks sir Malvs. sa uulitin. ^^,

now, since i do have a lot of Gundam-related toys from Bandai. and most of them have its own version of the original Gundam. i decided to go for my fifth (and last as of the moment. hehehe. :D ) GFF figure -- the RX-78-2 Gundam. i'm choosing between the upcoming #0036 FA-78-1 Full-Armor Gundam or #0037 PF-78-1 Perfect Gundam. so guys, what do you think?

Snapbuilt: MG Zeta Gundam Unit 3 part 2

good day everyone. i had the time to start and build the leg parts and backpack wings of my MG Zeta Gundam last weekend despite of my busy schedule with work and sidelines. and just when i thought to take some photos of my newly acquired first Gundam Fix Figuration figures last weekend, i decided to finish the base kit figure of this MG kit instead.

to continue the second part of this snapbuilding, here's the leg part:

LEG UNIT
showing on the first row of photos are the internal base structure of the legs. and next is the transformation sequence of the leg unit. the legs are stable when its transformed. some slides here and there and you're done transforming it. i really admire the mechanisms of the leg and knee parts. to think that it bends when transformed, the knee joints is still stable too when in MS mode. it's not wobbly. ^^,

BASE KIT UNIT
here's the finished base kit figure of my MG Zeta Gundam. so far, so good. ^^,

WING BINDER UNITS
after building the first half of the backpack wings, i was so amaze with the transformation sequence. so i decided to post here the sequence. didn't know that it has a great mechanism inside. cool. ^^,

and lastly, the photos of both wing binders in Mobile Suit and in Wave Rider form.

Snapbuilt: MG Zeta Gundam Unit 3 part 1

good day everyone. finally, i had the time to start snapbuilding my Master Grade 1/100 Zeta Gundam Unit 3 [White Unicorn ver] last night. this unit is piloted by White Unicorn (aka Amuro Ray) and its featured in Gundam Evolve../Omega number 9. the episode also featured 2 more Zeta Gundams piloted by Red Snake and Grey Wolf.

BOXART
to start off my snapbuilt kit review, here's the boxart of the MG kit:

CONTENT & CATAPULT DISPLAY BASE
next are the contents and the catapult display base. one of the reason what i like with this kit, it includes a display base. ^^, and since Bandai included a display base, they ignored putting a landing gear for the Wave Rider mode. it's ok... but it's also sucks at the same time. o_O

HEAD UNIT
so far in my experience with building Master Grade kits, this is the first time i've build a head without worrying about seamlines. practically, there's no seamlines on its head. you just have to clean and sand the cut marks, that's it. what's good is, the head parts consists of left and right side, the face plate, main camera block and the v-fins. not like with the other Gundam heads (e.g. RX-78-2), it consists of front and back side. that's why you need to sand and clean the seam lines located on the top of the head. with the Zeta, they eliminated that by building it sidewards. hope next time, Bandai will do this format on their next and upcoming releases -- esp on Gundam Unicorn. ^^,

TORSO UNIT
now, this is the part when i started to notice that i will going to have a hard time building this kit. i also noticed that the transformation mechanism are complicated. o_O next photo is the cockpit with the Amuro figure. then after building the main torso, i attached the shoulder joints on both sides.

ARM & WAIST UNIT
here's the finished arm parts with the manipulators. then just for the fun of it, i tried transforming the torso part to its Wave Rider form. so far, so good. now, i'm starting to like where this kit is going. ^^,

next are the waist unit. although this consists of small individual parts, i find this one also complicated. because this part happens to hold the main transforming sequence for the leg units. i just hope they put some diecast metal parts for it. ^^,

i think that's it for now. will continue this with the leg units hopefully tomorrow evening after work.

good day everyone. finally i had the time to post some updates on my blogsite. it's almost a month since my last post. got so busy with work and some sidelines. i know i owe you guys some updates on my Master Grade Zeta Gundam Unit 3. don't worry, i'll post soon since i'm planning on starting building that kit later this week. ^^,

for now, i'll just update you guys on this upcoming Master Grade kit from Bandai. i know this is an old news na since some Gundam sites posted this one already. you can't blame me for sharing this. i'm just so excited with it. ^^, that MG kit is none other than the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam featured on the Gundam Unicorn Novel. written by Harutoshi Fukui and designed by Katoki Hajime.

it was unveiled last 2007 Chara Hobby Convention held in Japan. and announced to be the december year-ender Master Grade kit. cool huh? and for that i salute Bandai for making this an MG kit. ^^,

ok, here's some photos from Danny Choo, taken from the last Chara Hobby Convention.

some magazine scans that i found online from the November issue of Dengeki Hobby Magazine showing the details of the upcoming MG kit. it also says that this one will transform to its Destroy Mode. now, how COOL is that? ^^, so i decided that i will buy 2 kits just to achieve both modes. i don't want my kits to transform from one form to another. the paints might scratch when it transforms. too bad they don't reveal yet model kit photos of the Destroy Mode. but don't fret, we have some artwork of the Destroy Mode so you guys will have some ideas how cool this kit will be. ^^,

after seeing these photos i also wish that Bandai would release a Gundam Fix Figuration version for this kit. since the GFF line is Katoki Hajime based, there's a chance that we will see this one soon. and definitely i'll also buy 2 figures to have both modes. oh, and i also wish that the Shinanju will get a Master Grade and Gundam Fix Figuration treatment too. ^^,

Snapbuilt: MG Char's Zaku II part 3

good day everyone. finally, i've finished my Master Grade Zaku II ver.2 kit. well, actually i've finished this 2 weeks ago. just forgot to take some photos of it. hehehe. ^^,

ok. without much further ado (that's my intro, btw :D ), let's continue our review:

the next set of photos shows all the profile shots. front shot. back shot. 2 side shot. 2 angled quarter shot. and some shots imitating the trademark 'Dalong Pose' that shows the maximum bending capabilities of knee joints and the elbow joints. you really can tell that the articulations of this kit is superb and stable. and the joints are tight too to think that this were all snapbuilt. i only wish that if i paint this kit in the future, it will still be articulated.

next are the new and improved individual joints for the shield and shoulder armor which the version1 kit lacks of. good thing i don't have the version1 kit. that's why i'm so happy with this version. to think that this is my first enemy Mobile Suit kit, i'm really satisfied with it. it's the most well-articulated and stable kit there is -- well just for now, unless Bandai release a new kit with more stability than this one. hehehe. ^^, and as you can see the shoulder armor has inner frames too. cool, huh? ;)

i think all good things have been said about this kit. the only think that lacks with this kit package is the leg missle pods from the Type-F Zaku II. (the green Zaku version.) but that's ok. if i have an extra budget, i might buy the green one too. get the missle pod and attached it here. and i won't paint the green one so i can have a MG Zaku II plaything. hehehe. ^^,

Snapbuilt: MG Char's Zaku II part 2

good day everyone. as promised, here's the part 2 kit review and snap-building of my Master Grade No.098 1:100 scaled kit of MS-06S Char's Aznable Customize Zaku II ver.2.0. i finished both legs minus the verniers on the legs. i will glue it there later once this kit goes to painting stages. and that will be sooooon... no airbrush yet. hehehe. ^^,

here's the finished leg units. the middle section of the pipes are springs. which is cool btw. ;) looking at this kit, i remember '70s RETRO'. FLARE PANTS, Baby! ^^,

next is the skirt/waist armor. all the skirt armors are articulated. you can slide the side skirts so that the legs can move freely. as seen on the fourth image. this Zaku can do the splits! wow! cool, huh? ^^,

here's the 'On Bended Knee' pose that we see on magazines before. i really love the articulation of this MG kit. and he's 'malaman & siksik' btw. i even showed it to my mom how cool this articulation is. and what she said was, 'not like your Gundams on top of our piano. they're skinny.' i did agree on her, you know. once i saw my Freedoms on top of it. hahaha! ^^,

and here's the finished Zaku unit minus the manipulators and weapons. maybe, i'll finish this later once i get home. i heard there's storm coming. and our boss permits us to go home early. cool. ^^, Zaku, wait for me. i'll finish you later!

good evening. i started building this Master Grade No.098 1:100 scaled kit of MS-06S Char's Aznable Customize Zaku II ver.2.0 last night. which is also my first model kit of enemy's Mobile Suit unit. and here's what i've finished so far:

here i'm showing the comparisons of Char's scaled figures. it's proportion with each other. whether in standing form or in-cockpit form. btw, a lot of Master Grade 1:100 scaled kits pilot figures is not proportioned with each other. for example the new Master Grade Turn-A Gundam. the Loran figure on the cockpit is not proportioned to the standing figure. another example is the previous R3 1:100 scaled L-Gaim MKII kit. the Sprial Flow (cockpit) unit and the cockpit figure is not proportioned with the Daba Myroad standing figure. not so sure about Kira Yamato on my MG Freedom and Strike Freedom. :-/

next is the new 'pipe system' sprues. the version 1.0 MG kit comes with seperate hose and pipes. while the version 2.0, the pipes and hose are joined together in one single sprue tree. all you have to do is cut the pipes, then slide it to the attached hose. but may i remind everyone who wants to paint their kits that sand the cut marks first before sliding it to the hose. this is the first mistake i've made with the first pipe system. so what i did is slide back the pipes and sand the cut marks. or if you want, you can keep the PVC sprue for later use if you forgot to sand the cut marks. here's an example of the 'unsanded' and 'sanded' pipes on the sprue tree. just before sliding it to the hose. oh, don't mind the 'exposed white spots' on the 'sanded' hose. i'll prime and paint this kit, so no worries. atleast it's smooth now compared to the 'unsanded' ones. ^^,

next we see the finished cockpit inside the torso. btw, you can slide the cockpit unit to the left side and right side of the torso. both openings can slide up and down too to reveal the cockpit area. i might add that the torso part is kinda heavy. which is not a bad thing for me. honestly, i really like the weight of this kit. i just hope that ALL Gundam kits have this kind of internal frame. ^^, next the head unit. i love the mono-eye gimik here. everytime you swivel the head from left to right and vice-versa, the mono-eye moves also. it doesn't stay in the middle area of the head unit. cool. the arm unit is heavy too. nice. and next, the finished upper part (minus the manipulators) of Zaku II. looks great, huh? ^^,

next batch is the right leg. i'll tell you now, that i really love the details and articulation of the leg unit. BRAVO Bandai! superb engineering. i love it! ^^, when you play with it, even if you're still assembling it, you can really feel that the hydraulic designs are really moving... wait... maybe that was just my imagination. hehehe. :D the details on the feet's internal frame is great too. as if there's really a 'workable pistons hydraulics' on the mechanism. great huh? ^^,

and lastly, the finished right leg unit. great details, huh? though the internal frame will not be visible once you attached the armor plates, there's a feeling that i really want to paint the internal frame just because of the cool details. ^^, that's why i'm studying the kit while assembling it so i can see what needs to be remove so that the internal frame will be exposed. it's a waste if i paint the internal frame and not expose it, right?

and now, this is 'WHY' i love Bandai's updated and upgraded MG kits. because almost all the armor parts now are 'CLIP-BASED'. less male-and-female connector pegs. you just clip the armor plates on the internal frame. now it's easy to mod armor parts. cool, huh? ^^,

hope i can finish the left leg unit tonight after work. and maybe the manipulators and the weapons too. as long that i'm not sleepy, i can finish this. ^^,

DIGIRAMA: Impulse vs Destroy vs Freedom

good day everyone. finally, i finished last night my first rendered 'Digirama' from episode 32 of Gundam SEED Destiny entitled "STELLAR". showcasing here are the key scenes from the said episode. from Shinn's FORCE IMPULSE first strike, to Kira's FREEDOM last blow, up to the destruction of Stellar's DESTROY GUNDAM.

here i used my HCM-Pro figures of Force Impulse, Freedom and Destroy Gundam. for backdrop, i used the backdrop board included on Destroy Gundam figure and later on i added some effects with Adobe Photoshop.

i also included small screenshots from the episode for comparisons. hope you like them. enjoy! ^^,

next i'll post some wallpapers for downloads from this first digirama. watch out for it.

good day to everyone. now we come to the last part of the review. the massive Destroy Gundam. as brod V2 put it -- the final piece of the puzzle. let me say thank you for reading my reviews. and for waiting for this one. we all know that this is the big one. the main star on the Freedom VS Destroy VS Impulse review 'trilogy'. (naks. parang movie title ah.) and to Bandai... screw you for making us BUY all your wonderful expensive Gundam goodies. nweiz, i had fun doing all this review and hope to do more in the future. but i gotta tell you guys that doing this reviews and taking some photos really took my time. esp on weekends. but, like i said, i had fun. i still giggle holding it and playing with it. (...or, that was just me?) this is the 'part' were we gonna tell ourselves -- 'i'm really, really happy and proud with my collections.'

ok. on to our review...

02. P a c k a g i n g

so far this is the biggest box from the 1:200 scaled HCM-Pro figures. the size of the box has the same dimensions of 2 Master Grade Zaku II ver.2.0 boxes. so it's huge. of all the HCM-Pro figures i have, this is the box that i like. it has cool close-up CGI face of Destroy Gundam. and not only it's bigger, but it uses 2 clear plastic containers instead of 1 clear and 1 white plastic containers. and since it's both transparent plastic, you can see the burned Berlin city backboard image that Bandai included -- which i used for my digirama backdrop. cool. btw, the side panel lost the concept of making it bookshelf panel like the small boxes has. so it will look awkward if you stack this up along with your small HCM-Pros. i forgot to include this -- Stellar's image on the front. minor issue lang, i just hope that they used the ones on the side panel for the front image. mas astig eh. but still, i rate this packaging section with:

In Sprues: (2) Open Fist manipulators, and (1) ABS-made V-fin.
Special Parts: (1) Excalibur sword for Force Impulse, and (1) set of unassembled Clear Display Stand

as you noticed on the contents of this figure, all are pre-assembled item na. except for that 2 items shown -- manipulators and extra V-fin. ain't that neat? no need to cut sprues. hehehe. the last photo shows the Fork Stand Base inserted on the Backpack Verniers for addtional support when it's in MS form.

in the next part of this section, i seperated it into 2 sub-section dedicated for the 'Figure' and the 'Backpack'.

03.01. F i g u r e

Destroy Gundam. showing in this sub-section is the figure itself. i took shots of every angle to show you guys how i love the details of this figure. first set of thumbnails are turn-around profile shots of Destroy. look how big the claw-looking feets are. nice. next, you see the head, it goes down when it's in MA form. next, the backpack connector mounted on the figure's back. next, revealing the shoulder joints. btw, all moving joints are 'click-based'. (sorry, i don't know the correct term for that.) everytime you move the joints, it does that 'clicking' sound. which is IMHO, it's better than not having it. more on that at the Articulation Review. next, is the detachable arm. there's 2 buttons on the side of the arm to release it. take note that the Deflector Shield parts falls off from the arm every now and then. and lastly, details on the feet and back part of the figure.

03.02. B a c k p a c k

Backpack. one thing i could say about this backpack -- i love the details!!! it uses some silver paints. clear red and green parts on the eye and the forehead. love it. love it. and the beam cannons are huge too. but as i remember on the anime, the beam cannons are longer compared to this figure. but, i'm not complaining. i think it will look just more cooler if it's longer.

like what i said on the previous section, this has a 'click-based' joints. it really does help maintaining the pose having this joints. it makes this figure stable. i think all big figures have this kind of joints. because my DXMSiA figures have this too. makes sense? hehehe. nweiz, i did tried imitating Dalong's pose but that's the maximum that i could get. and i need to lean the figure sidewards to balance it. next, my spread pose. hehehe. i don't think this figure can do the split. and i didn't bother to do my 'maxed-out pose'. i'm afraid that the 'click joints' might give away if i do that. sorry guys. next the shoulder and head joints. sad to say, that's the only leaning points it can do. btw, the ankle joints are click-based too. since, it has that 'click-based joints', it limits the poses which requires the parts to move sidewards. for example the ankle joints, you cannot move it sidewards. you can just tilt it front and backwards. wouldn't be cool to pose this in MA form, standing, legs spreading, with both feet on the ground like this? we can only accomplish that if we can just move the ankle joints sidewards. and for losing some of the articulation because of that 'click-based' joints, i rate this section:

profile shots of Mobile Suit and Mobile Armor forms. just by looking at it, you really can tell that this figure is very intimidating. how i wish that there's an HCM-Pro 1/200 scaled Psyco Gundam to go with this figure. now, that's something to look forward too.

here's some poses that i did. once again, i had fun posing it and playing with it and taking pictures of it. i really like the 'all-out spread' and that 'Keroro' pose. hehehe. so i guess, it's the same with my previous HCM-Pro figures, i'll give this section 6 smileys for fun factor. oh, forgot to tell you guys. don't do the last thumbnail using only the Fork Stand. it will not hold with that pose. i leaned the Backpack's Beam Cannon to the background and added lang the Fork Stand.

07. C o n c l u s i o n

once again, this is another ultimate superb toy from Bandai. it's huge. it's big. very intimidating. it's full of cool details. and it's kinda -- expensive. well, that's what we get from Bandai these days. they're pushing everything to the limits. giving us what we want and what we wish. and here we are paying them for it. hehehe.

still, i would recommend this Destroy Gundam to all Gundam SEED/Destiny fans. esp to those who collects HCM-Pro figures. this is a great addition to your ever-growing-never-ending-collections of SEED-related goodies. or to those who just collects the main mechas of the series. this is a good buy. it is expensive but i guarantee you that you will get what you paid for.

so what are you waiting for? go now to your favorite Hobby Toy Specialty Stores (that's GreatToys to me -- special plugging. hehehe.), look for this HCM-Pro Destroy Gundam. and prepare your wallets. that's it.

good day to everyone. as i promised the last time, here's the part 2 review for the HCM-Pro Freedom VS Destroy VS Impulse figures. honestly, purchasing this Impulse figure is what i call a "necessary purchase" in order to complete the set for the famous SEED Destiny scenes. "impulse-ive purchase" indeed. and we all know that we can't complete the scenes without this figure, right? hehehe. nweiz, special thanks to Xentar for getting me this figure. thanks bro. until our next transaction. ok, so much for that... on to our review...

02. P a c k a g i n g

standard HCM-Pro small box. this is the regular box of HCM-Pro since series 1. it also has cool CG artwork. again, hoping that the CG artwork is bigger. comparing this box to the recent release of HCM-Pro figures, this one fits all the figure and accessories -- no extra spaces like the recent ones. and if you're into collecting also the boxes, this is great because once you stack it up, it will look like books because of the layout on the side panel. visit Bandai's HCM-Pro Lineup Index, and you'll know what i'm talking about.

you can see here the figure along with the shield and silhouette flyer. and the rest are all in sprues to be built. the sad part here is the Beam Rifle.if you'll notice it has a built-in manipulator. meaning, you can't store the Beam Rifle on Impulse's rear armor skirt. it's not good to look at. hahaha! as if you cut an MS hands with your Beam Rifle in it, not removing the hands, then store it on your back. that's funny. hehehe. and that's a good point which Bandai did on their recent figure -- Freedom. it has 2 Beam Rifle handles. one with manipulator and one without.

now the shield. this is cool for a small accessory. it does open like in the cartoon. the red part splits, showing the black part of the shield, and the side part slides outward too. nice for a small accessory. wish it has a "slide" button so it will be automatic. hehehe.

Core Splendor. the Impulse with the Core Splendor unit. here's the next 2 photos showing the Core Splendor in fighter plane mode and core block mode. next the details and joint of the crotch and ankle parts. and lastly, the Core Splendor and Force Silhouette in flight mode. once again, another superb detailing from HCM-Pro line. just be prepared to ignore small paint chip that it has. yup, HCM-Pro is a small MG/PG kit. but remember to take good care of it. too much handling and playing, the joints will become loose. so prepare also your Elmer's glue palagi. btw, after i took some photos of this baby, the left crotch joint become loose. but, all in all i will give this baby:

sorry if i only have 5 photos for this section. got so excited playing with it and i forgot to take more photos. hehehe. ok, here we see that the shoulder joint is pulled from the torso. this in order to position the shoulder armor in place when it's in Chest Flyer mode. standard neck joints that moves the head in up and down motion. remember that some figures doesn't have an 'extra articulation' for up and down movements. and lastly, the famous Dalong pose. i gotta say, that this figure is light. why? because when posing it, i didn't need to lean the figure sidewards just to balance it.

another superb toy engineering from Bandai. yes. yes. yes. my only complain with this figure is just the scale. they're so small. it's like playing with gashapons. but only this time, they're articulated. i know everyone thinks why not go with their new line -- Super HCM-Pro, right? it's more detailed. mode articulated. more gimiks. and it's bigger. it's in 1:144 scale. so it's the same scale with HGUC kits na. but, we all know that a regular 1:200 HCM-Pro figure is expensive na, what more if the new Super HCM-Pro pushes through? see the recent release of Super HCM-Pro RX-78-2 Gundam? that figure is so cool. it's more like a PG kit now. i want to have one. but after seeing it... and after i found out the price... it's too much na for a 1:144 scaled figure. with that amount, you can buy 2 regular MG kits or Hi-Nu for that matter. if only they could lower the price...

nweiz, to finish this review, i will still recommend this Impulse to Seed/Destiny fans. it's a great figure. if Bandai decided to release the 2 other variants of Impulse, i will also get it, esp the Sword variant. heck, i will also buy all the Strike variants, if they decided to release it in HCM-Pro.

good day to everyone. here's another sets of reviews on the new HCM-Pro SEED figures. i got so excited before when i found out that there will be an HCM-Pro Destroy Gundam. and before that Bandai also announced that there will be an HCM-Pro Freedom first. and me, being a SEED fan, i started giggling about these. i know i said before that i have to cut some of my collections, but to my dismay... Bandai started to unveil all their upcoming products. so here i am again, pressured and cramming to collect everything. basta yung kakasya lang sa budget. :D ok, so much for the introduction...

02. P a c k a g i n g

standard HCM-Pro box. cool CG artwork. hoping that artwork is bigger. big box. small figure. yun na yun eh. ;D honestly, this new figure has a big box compared to the previous released HCM-Pro figures. i.e.: Force Impulse. it has a smaller box compared to this one. when i saw the box at first, i was expecting that there will be accessories enough to fill the box. but... like what i said on my first sentence. big box. small figure. :( for that, i give the packaging review:

here's the content of the figure: (1) Freedom, (2) HiMAT wings, (1) beam rifle, (1) beam rifle's grip w/ attached manipulator, (2) beam saber, (1) lacerta beam saber attached w/ manipulator, (1) special beam saber effect part w/ attached manipulator, (1) shield, (1) shield's handle, (1) shield's arm connector and (1) ABS-made V-fin. here we can see the sprue tree on the shield. this is great feature. it's like cutting a sprue from coated kits. the sprue cut marks will not be visible. although we have to trim it nicely, so the other shield's half will flatten evenly on the other half. you can also see the special effect part of the beam saber. this is for reenactment of the battle scenes with Destroy Gundam. showing also is the beam rifle. i was surprised that Bandai colored the blue part of the rifle. because as far as i know, everyone is pissed at Bandai for not seperating the blue part of the beam rifle on the model kit. :-/ next, showing the clear display stand for Freedom. IMHO, i like the stand, but somehow my Freedom tends to fall after a couple of minutes of display. :( on the breast part shows the N-Jammer thingy. this is the power source of Freedom. after removing it and seeing where the N-Jammer is resting, question arises. :D how were Kira's cockpit fit in that area? hehehe. and if you were Kira, di ka ba matataranta at nasa ilalim mo lang yung Nuclear Energy? hahaha! :D

next, showing the nozzles on the legs. it has some silver paint touches on the sides. i like it. :D and the articulation of the feet, i guess it has the same articulation like its MG counterpart. on the back, it shows that the wing binders uses the balljoint system. this is great because you can move the wings easier compare to the MG and EMSiA counterparts. and no worries too, if the balljoint got loosen. you can easily apply a small amount of superglue on the sockets. cool huh? ;D same goes to the side skirt armor with the rail cannons, it uses ball joints too. and the skirt armors has details. nice. ;)

04. HCM-Pro-VS-EMSiA Scale & Proportion Comparisons

this section shows both HCM-Pro and EMSiA Freedom figure. the purpose of this section is to show you guys the height difference and comparison on the proportions. i can say that i like the proportion of the HCM-Pro better than the EMSiA version. it's a lot sexier. remember in anime, Freedom is kinda sexy compared to Strike Gundam. ;) and the HCM-Pro wing is longer compared to the EMSiA's. one thing i notice is, EMSiA's usually have a bigger manipulators compared to their HCM-Pro counterpart. the downside of the HCM-Pro compare to EMSiA? the scale... if only they were bigger. :-/

reminder: since there's a new line called Super HCM-Pro, it's not impossible to release everything again in 1:144 scale. but i think that's too expensive na for us to collect. imagine a price worth of one cool-looking MG kit. ;)

i love the articulation on this small baby. :D i love it even better than the EMSiA counterpart. hehehe. ;D like everyone said, HCM-Pro is almost a small version of the MG kit counterpart. articulated and highly detailed. i took some shots of the Freedom in a maxed out position. well, that's maxed out for me. don't want to loosen the joints for moving and stretching that much. and the cool thing on the articulation is the wing. it uses the balljoint system. mas flexible, IMO. and for that i give this section -- 5. ;)

my conclusion is... i advice everyone to get this figure. just for the fun of playing with it. if you love Freedom Gundam, then this figure is really for you. imagine, the fun of playing your favorite Gundam. now i only wish that there's an HCM-Pro Justice Gundam. by the way, since i don't have an HCM-Pro Strike Freedom, there's no way of telling which is better -- Freedom or Strike Freedom? but based on the online photos of Strike Freedom, i find it less accurate from the anime. or in a way, nawala yung pagiging maangas nya compared to this HCM-Pro Freedom. if i decided to buy the HCM-Pro Strike Freedom, i'll make a comparison between these two. ;)

so overall, i rate this HCM-Pro figure -- 4.5.

good day to everyone. just want to share this link i found from Gunota Headlines. a 1/1 Scaled (that's lifesize to us) RX-78-2 Gundam for the Gundam Crisis in Fujikyu Highland, Japan, starting this month of July. i know this will be a great attraction. ^^,

how i wish we can go there and visit just the main attraction -- no tourist visa needed. well, that's a wishful thinking only, right? hehehe. ^^, guess, we have to wait for a footage aired at YouTube, huh? ;-)

after seeing his 'Digirama', i got so inspired. and decided to do the same thing. but since i don't have the equipments especially lamps to do this kind of effects, i just used what i have. then add some 'light and special effects' later in Photoshop. and here's the outcome:

i think it came out nice. since 'DIGIRAMA' is 'IN' nowadays in Japan, i might use this in my next batch of reviews with my HCM-Pro Destroy Gundam figure. don't worry, i will also post here the rest of my previous reviews at GreatToys.net.

some of the Gundam-related toys i collect aside from various scale GunPlas are EMSiA, HCM-Pros, SEED Gashapons, & Trading Figures such as ADAPT & HYPER SEED.

my japanese classmates gave me some Gundam MSV kits. ^^,

i've started building again Gundam model kits last 2002. stopped building them when we came home from Japan last 1985. we stayed there for 2 years. during that time, i was exposed to the old Gundam model kits. esp the MSV (Mobile Suit Variations) lines. since we came home, i stopped building them for some reasons. 1.) there was limited stocks of GunPla here in the Philippines. and you can only found them exclusively at specialty hobby stores. (e.g. Greenhills & VirraMall) and ofcourse, 2.) there's the 'money' problem too. i was 11 then. and money in those days is not free. i just can't ask my parents to give me toy allowance every month, can i? ^_^ and EDSA'86 happened... more crisis...

fast forward to 2007.

i'm working now... i'm earning... meaning, i can buy more GunPlas, right? ain't that sweet? (sorry bu, i can't help myself. ^^, )

nweiz, for the last 3 years, there's a lot of hit & misses with my kit building. issues on the sprues, seam lines, paneling, etc. after learning some techniques, tips and advices from fellow MechaPinoy.net and GreatToys.net forumers, i decided to go to the next level... airbrushing. so hopefully, later this year, i'll buy my first airbrush and will do my first 'airbrushed Gundam kit'. don't worry, i will do 'ala-documentary-kind-of-blog' here when i start doing my first 'airbrushed' kit. will keep you posted about that.

i will also post infos and reviews on some of the Gundam-related goodies such as figures, model kits, event shows and anime series.

so for now, feel free to browse the site. hopefully, i can update this site even if it's just about Gundams or GunPla for that matter.
